to Houses of Healing!
Dr. Dorothy Woods Smith, Founder and Director of Houses of Healing, is on faculty for the Holistic HealthCare Certificate Program offered by the University of Southern ME Center for Continuing Education in Portland, Maine. She is a recognized practitioner and teacher of Therapeutic Touch, and board certified as an advanced holistic nurse. She is available for programs and courses, and as a consultant on practice, education and research in these areas.
In July 2008, Dorothy is scheduled to attend the Advanced Nurse Healers Intensive in Craryville, NY, with Dr. Dolores Krieger. She will give a presentation on her recently-published Therapeutic Touch research.
Dorothy is available to teach Classes in Therapeutic Touch leading to recognition as a Therapeutic Touch practitioner, from beginning through advanced levels. She is also available to mentor individuals and give group presentations.
In 2008, Dorothy gave consultations and presentations on Therapeutic Touch in hospital and clinical settings to representatives of three major medical centers in Maine.
Plans are underway for classes in Therapeutic Touch leading to recognition as a Therapeutic Touch practitioner, and for on line programs offering CEUs.
In July 2006, Dorothy Woods Smith, with Diane May, taught
the mentoring program for Therapeutic Touch (TT) teachers at Pumpkin
Hollow Farm. Dr. Dolores Krieger, co-founder of TT, oversaw the program.

In October 2005, Houses of Healing sponsored a 3-day
regional conference featuring Diane May, RN, Coordinator Nurse Healers-Professional
Associates International. Topics included Healing Sounds of Energy,
Therapeutic Touch Practice, and Exploring the Chakras.

In September 2003, Houses of Healing
sponsored a national conference featuring Dr. Bernard Grad, the researcher
whose plant and animal studies laid the foundation for present-day energy
healing research. This Conference was recorded and is available
on CD.
